Thursday’s Passport to Adventure’s lineup includes, Jonathon Latta UOP’s percussion instructor and a couple of his students to introduce, teach, and perform a variety of percussion instruments. Nancy Gonzalez St. Clair and her Mom making Papel Picado. Plus the Stockton/San Joaquin Library Bus for story time and a free book. Puppets everyone loves a puppet show! Mr. Purple will be at Passport to Adventure on June 18th. Orlando Jose will be there with his puppet team. Smile Bebe shown with our friend Orlando Zeps Molina will be introducing us to Vietnamese and Chinese cultures. Local Artist Geneva Mello will be doing an Irish Art Project with us. SJC AgVenture’s Krista McCoon will be teaching a STEM project. Bean in a bag. Wow! You don’t want to miss out. Thursday’s Adventures will take us to Asia, Greece, and Norway. We will learn about Norway and its Troll’s. What it’s like to be Greek and learn of all the contributions and history from them. We will make our own recycled hat. With the grand finale being the talented team of dancers and actors from Red Phoenix Rising Theater. Our own docent Val Acoba is their creative director. Passport to Adventure’s Thursday’s Lineup of presenters is a performance by the World Famous multi-instrumental talents of Neil Nayyar. Artist Joy Dibble Neas of Art Splash will be introducing us to community arts. Docent Joyce will be talking about the Trolls of Norway, are they real? Plus learn how Huckleberry Finn fished. Passport to Adventure is debuting on Tuesday June 4th at 9:00am. You will start with a walk down the Sunshine Trail through native plantings. Say the pledge of allegiance in the Calaveras School House. Learn to make Native American Corn Husk dolls with the team from Native CORE. Listen to the story of Chinese Noodles, read by Val Acoba from Red Phoenix Rising Theater. Learn Pioneer gardening skills from Farmer Mike in the museum’s garden. Then listen to the world renowned Swiss Accordion/ Yodeling performances of Arthur Brogli. 4 cultures introduced, all while having fun. Finish by having a picnic.
