Despite what you might have been told, life and the world aren’t accidental, insignificant, or meaningless. There is a God, He does love you - so much in fact that he became like us so we could become like Him, and He has a good plan for your life, not iust here but in eternity. All that’s required is your faith and faithfulness. Your move.

When will enough be enough? When will we be able to say, with Paul, “I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.” (Phillipians 4:11). The unhealed heart always seeks more.

When will we be big enough, fast enough, strong enough? Attractive enough? Smart enough? Successful enough? Influential enough? Famous enough? Powerful enough? Rich enough?

When will we have seen, smelled, tasted, touched, and heard enough?

When will our house, our car, our clothes, be enough?

What degree, position, compensation, profit margin, market share, award, or accomplishment will be enough?

When will we, our family, our friends, and our lives ever been enough?

When is enough, enough?

Somehow, it’s always after just a little bit more.

Ever notice that the major holiday that’s the least commercialized (and that’s meant to focus us on gratitude) is the one we run right past?

Or notice that the two major holidays that are supposed to fix our attention on Christ - beyond being commercialized - literally have characters assigned to them that become the focus of attention rather than the born and risen Lord?

Odd. 🤔

There is not a single societal-ill in existence that wouldn’t begin to heal if we returned to right Christian faith and practice.

Not one.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
- Matthew 6:33

First. In time and importance.

Before the email. Before breakfast. Before the news. Before the game. Before the meeting.

Before your Q3 report. Before your bank statement. Before the house or the car or the clothes.

Before your reputation. Before the promotion. Before your ideas, emotions, and ambitions.

Before everything.

Seek Christ, His kingdom, and righteousness. Truly and abidingly. And He will give you everything that you need.
