Thank you to all who took the time to sign my petitions, I am officially on the ballot for the school board election.

Good day, I am Michael Ferraro and I am one of the candidates running for the Lockport School Board. I am not a native of Lockport, I was born and raised on Long Island in a town called Northport. Both of my parents were educators, my father was a principal and my mother a teacher. My wife Sue and I relocated to Lockport in 2000 so she could continue her education and pursue her dream of working in the animal management/veterinary field. As for myself I work for one of the leading manufacturers of gaming devices and lottery terminals. In 2008 our son Joseph was born and he is currently in 7th grade at North Park and one day hopes to be a engineer, In my spare time I enjoy walking Jimmy the family dog, fishing, and spending time with my family. In addition to these activities I am also a Mason and a Shriner, as a Shriner I believe in helping all children.

With l the challenges placed before our teachers in the last 14 months I think they have been doing a fantastic job and they are working harder than ever.

In conclusion when you receive your ballots in the mail please vote for the candidates you think are best suited for the position of trustee and vote for them, I hope that I am included as one of them.

On behalf of myself & my family, I would like to extend a heart felt congratulations and a job well done to the Lockport class of 2020!

First off, I want to thank the people of Lockport for a record setting vote, the Board of Elections personnel for their diligence in hand counting over 5300 ballots, and Karen, Deb, & Lorrean from the Board of Ed for keeping everything on the up and up. Although I might have lost the election, I believe in a way I won something more important, I won some respect from some of the people Lockport. I also met some amazing people I never would have met if it weren't for this election Like Paula Halladay Travis, Teria Royster Young, and John Wiley, every one of you would have made an excellent Board of Education Trustee. I also had the pleasure of meeting Ron Cheatham a fantastic man with unquestionable dedication to our youth. With the positive comes the negatives, I also got to see first hand the negative side to politics and the true colors of other candidates and even a current board Trustee. These negatives definitely won't sway me from running in 2021. Again thank you people of Lockport, you haven't heard the last of me!
