How can a weary world rejoice? So many around us are suffering loss, living through struggle, feeling defeated and hopeless. How does this weary world rejoice?

The next line in this beautiful song tells us:

“for yonder breaks a new and glorious morn...

Christ is the Lord
O praise His name forever
His power and glory reign”

This world is temporary. And at Christmas we celebrate the hope of eternity through Jesus, who was born to die for us.

The weary world rejoices in this hope.

Jesus said, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you will have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

This is your friendly reminder that there isn’t a “best” way to homeschool, or the right curriculum, or the perfect schedule. And anyone who tells you that there is...well, they are wrong.

There is a simple formula for raising children in the Bible: to bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4), to train them up in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6), and teach them the commandments and love of the Lord when you rise up, when you lie down, when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way (Deuteronomy 6:6-9). Everything else is small details.

Whether you sit down with textbooks from 8-3, or unschool, or something in between; whether you are 100% classical, college-bound, or free-spirited; whether you sleep in and read books together until noon or have a rigorous routine of classes and activities—- there’s not a right way or a wrong way to homeschool.

Homeschooling (as I’ve said before) is parenting with school supplies. It happens as differently as meals, budgets, and schedules in every other family.

Comparison is the thief of joy! Be confident in what God has given you to do and with what He’s given you to work with. Seek His wisdom, not the world’s. If you’re not letting the world raise your children, don’t let them tell you how to do it, either.

God gave YOUR children to YOU. Trust Him (Proverbs 3:5-6). Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:8).

Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. (2 Corinthians 3:17)

I have been accepted to sell my Pizzelles at the Acton Children's Business Fair in Lockport on September 17! The fair will take place at 229 E. 9th Street Lockport, Il 60441.

I will be featuring my lemon, vanilla, and chocolate pizzelles which will of course be on-hand and available for purchase. 🥧 I may have a new seasonal flavor, more details to come soon!

Hanging out with my absolute BESTIES! (Missing Eileen Kiehn- Dole 🥺) I have been so blessed by the years upon years I have taught with these gals, laughed with them and cried with them. I don’t like this new season that has forced us on to new adventures apart from each other. The adventures we were already having was fun enough! Miss you guys!
