LOCKNEY BAND ANNOUNCEMENTS (Sat. Aug. 22)

1. STUDENT TEAM: Monday Band Practice 9:30am-12:30pm.
Please be on time. We are trying to build winning habits like being on time and focusing when you are practicing.

2. ALL PARENTS INVITED - General Band Booster Meeting coming up! :) MON, AUG 31 at 6PM at the band hall. All parents invited. This is a general meeting (not a board meeting) and will be very informative. All “new business” items are due by Tuesday, Aug 25 to get on the docket. This formal meeting will conform to traditional rules of order including time limits on discussion so that it is an efficient meeting for everyone!

Summer Band starts this Monday (July 27) from 9am until 12:30pm. We are so VERY prepared for you to have the best season yet for the Lockney Marching Band!
For our band families and fans, we have the same 4 competitions as always (Oct 3 – Denver City, Oct. 10 – Lubbock Westerner, Oct. 17 UIL Regional, Oct. 31 UIL Area). PLUS you might want to save Nov. 10 for the State Championships in San Antonio. We can do it! ALSO: Guard & Percussion have one other competition on Sat Sept 26 at Lubbock Coronado - Guard & Percussion only.

KCBD Live News Broadcast from Lockney City Park at 5pm & 6pm tomorrow (Wed July 22). Please pick up your marching instrument and flip book from the band hall anytime tomorrow (Wednesday). We'll open up at 10am and be open until 5pm. Please be at the park by 4:30 -- we'd really like to have as many players as possible to represent well! We will bring all tubas and battery percussion (including cymbals) in the trailer. After the news broadcast (finishing at 6:30), please return your instrument and flip book to the band hall...or hold onto it until Monday when summer band starts! :) GO LOCKNEY!
If you are in football or cheer, we'd love you to play during the “play moments” since you are all part of our winner organization!

We've been working hard for you!!!
Summer Band starts Monday July 27 at 9am.
Your instruments, flip books, music folders, lockers, flags, props, mics, new uniforms, new marching shoes, practice lot prep, etc. are all ready for our team!

We hope to see a lot of you for this coming Wednesday's (July 22) pep band for the KCBD News broadcast from Lockney.

All of our Lockney Longhorn organization wishes Mr. Henry well as he gets married this summer and moves to his next life chapter in Houston! Thank you for all you did for our program!
We would also like to welcome Dr. Brinkman who will be joining our teaching team with YOUR AWESOME LOCKNEY LONGHORN BAND!

CONGRATULATIONS to our 42 Lockney Band members that qualified for State Solo & Ensemble in Austin this past Saturday! We are proud of having excellent performances and good ratings for everyone. In addition to that, we had 7 students medal with Division 1 ratings! (very difficult to do at this event!).
Congrats to Carter Duniven, Daniel Alvarado, Logan Rodriguez, Evan Salazar, Bray Sanchez, Anyssa Sanchez, and Matthew Goodwin for those awards! ENJOY some photos from our trip and thank you to everyone that supported this student success story!
Special thanks to our band booster organization that funds the Fiesta Texas part of this trip after the work was complete! 😃
