🏆❤️ A moment of pride for Lockhart ISD Special Services! ❤️🏆

Congratulations to our 2026 Lockhart ISD Teachers of the Year:

🌟 Terry Armstrong – Elementary Teacher of the Year
🌟 Matthew Collin Hart – Secondary Teacher of the Year

What makes this recognition even more special is that both honorees are special educators, chosen by their peers to represent all of Lockhart ISD. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment to students shine through every day, and this honor is a reflection of the incredible impact they have on their campuses and throughout our district.

During today’s celebration, both Terry and Collin shared heartfelt messages about their why, the purpose that drives them to serve students each day. Coach Hart shared that he strives to live by the motto “We before Me” on the court, in the classroom, and in everyday life, reminding us that true success comes from putting others first. Terry’s speech left us with a powerful reminder to celebrate every success, no matter how big or how small, because every step forward matters.

As special educators, we know that growth often happens one small victory at a time. Those victories deserve to be recognized, celebrated, and cherished.

Your Lockhart ISD Special Services family is incredibly proud of both of you. Thank you for representing our profession with such excellence, heart, and humility. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor! ❤️🦁

There are some great back-to-school resources available for families across Hays and Caldwell Counties, including free backpacks, school supplies, food, immunizations, haircuts, health services, and fun family activities.

We’re sharing this information to help connect our families with resources available in our community. Please check with each organization before attending, as some events require registration or have limited supplies available.

💙 Our Camp Curiosity students are showing what is all about! 🦁🥜

We are so proud of our Curiosity Campers for spreading kindness throughout our district by delivering trail mix and smiles to the amazing staff at MLC. These moments are about so much more than a snack. They are opportunities for our students to build confidence, practice social skills, connect with others, and make a positive impact in our community.

A huge thank you to our campers and the dedicated Special Education staff who create meaningful experiences like this every day. We love watching our students shine and share their Lion pride! ❤️🦁

We are so proud of our LHS and LJHS Special Olympics teams for an incredible day at the Hays CISD Track Meet! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

They represented Lockhart ISD in the best way, and we are beyond proud of each and every one of them!
