Last night, we had the honor of celebrating our incredible LISD Special Olympics athletes at our Special Olympics Banquet! 💙🦁

The evening was filled with smiles, laughter, awards, memories, and recognition for the hard work, determination, and heart our athletes show all year long. Each athlete represents what it means to persevere, support one another, and compete with courage and pride.

We are so proud of all of our athletes and thankful for the coaches, staff, families, volunteers, and community members who continue to encourage and support them every step of the way. Your dedication helps make these opportunities possible!

Our Junior High Foundational Learning students in Ms. Gonzales' Class have been busy building real-world independence skills! 🚌

This month, students learned how to use CARTS transportation services. They observed how to book a ride using the CARTS app and practiced tracking their ride in real time.

Students then put their learning into action by using CARTS to travel to Lion Stadium, where they cheered on their classmates competing in the annual Lockhart Special Olympics Track Meet. 💛🦁

These meaningful experiences help students practice important life skills they can carry with them into adulthood. We are so proud of their growth, confidence, and school spirit!

We are so proud of our LHS and LJHS Special Olympics teams for an incredible day at the Hays CISD Track Meet! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

They represented Lockhart ISD in the best way, and we are beyond proud of each and every one of them!

Thank you to our amazing students for hosting such a fun snack and drink pop-up at MLC earlier this week. From tasty treats to thoughtful homemade cards, you truly brightened everyone’s afternoon! 🍫🥤

Experiences like this build real world skills in customer service, communication, and independence and we are so proud of the work you’re doing each day! 🦁👏✨

We’re so grateful to our 18+ students and Ms. Newman for hosting a fantastic snack and drink pop-up this afternoon at MLC! 🍫🥤 From a cold, refreshing drink to a salty, delicious snack—and even a homemade card—you were sure to find the perfect afternoon pick-me-up to brighten your day.

These outstanding students are also gaining hands-on experience in customer service and other valuable real-world skills along the way!

Focused on creating meaningful opportunities, Coach Hart has brought students together in powerful ways, most notably through the incredible basketball event he has organized for the past two years. By uniting his team and our Special Olympics athletes, he has created an environment filled with encouragement, school spirit, and unforgettable energy as students pack the stands to support one another.

Fierce in his dedication, Coach Hart leads by example every single day. His positive outlook, passion for students, and commitment to inclusion make him an exceptional teacher, coach, and role model for all.
