Congratulations to our 2026 Lockhart ISD Teachers of the Year:

🌟 Matthew Collin Hart – Secondary Teacher of the Year

What makes this recognition even more special is that both honorees are special educators, chosen by their peers to represent all of Lockhart ISD. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment to students shine through every day, and this honor is a reflection of the incredible impact they have on their campuses and throughout our district.

During today’s celebration, both Terry and Collin shared heartfelt messages about their why, the purpose that drives them to serve students each day. Coach Hart shared that he strives to live by the motto “We before Me” on the court, in the classroom, and in everyday life, reminding us that true success comes from putting others first. Terry’s speech left us with a powerful reminder to celebrate every success, no matter how big or how small, because every step forward matters.

As special educators, we know that growth often happens one small victory at a time. Those victories deserve to be recognized, celebrated, and cherished.

💙 Our Camp Curiosity students are showing what is all about! 🦁🥜

We are so proud of our Curiosity Campers for spreading kindness throughout our district by delivering trail mix and smiles to the amazing staff at MLC. These moments are about so much more than a snack. They are opportunities for our students to build confidence, practice social skills, connect with others, and make a positive impact in our community.

Last night, we had the honor of celebrating our incredible LISD Special Olympics athletes at our Special Olympics Banquet! 💙🦁

The evening was filled with smiles, laughter, awards, memories, and recognition for the hard work, determination, and heart our athletes show all year long. Each athlete represents what it means to persevere, support one another, and compete with courage and pride.

We are so proud of all of our athletes and thankful for the coaches, staff, families, volunteers, and community members who continue to encourage and support them every step of the way. Your dedication helps make these opportunities possible!
