N E V E R F O R G E T. The day that changed everything. I was headed in to work at Chicago PD’s Special Operations Section listening to the news on the radio. I had been planning on getting out of 20th Special Forces Group, but after this attack, those plans irrevocably changed. This day defined the next 20 years of my life, and did the same for so many others. I cannot believe how poorly we remember that day as a culture now. The victims should never be forgotten. The first responders who sacrificed so much that day should never be forgotten. The soldiers who carried the fight to the enemy, many making the ultimate sacrifice, should never be forgotten. And the enemy, who still wants to destroy us, should never be forgotten. Never forget.
