Our campus bees worked hard this summer so they could donate to the campus food pantry. Label design by SUNY Sullivan Alumna Christina Martinez from our own Graphic Design program. 🔥

Will be in the bee yard at 3pm to check on the hives. C'mon out if you're able!

We're at a critical point in our work together to pass the Birds and Bees Protection Act (BBPA). Thanks in part to your outreach over the past couple of weeks, the BBPA language has been reconciled in the Senate and the Assembly.

Now that the bill is the same in both houses of the New York State Legislature, the Senate needs to pass the bill today or tomorrow so it can advance to the Governor’s desk for signature. Time is running out--we need the Senate to act before the session ends tomorrow, and your action will send a strong message: New Yorkers want the BBPA!

Please, take a moment now to help get this bill across the finish line. Email Senate Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins and Deputy Majority Leader Gianaris, and ask them to bring the bill to the Senate floor for a vote. Once it’s taken up, we’re confident the bill will pass—it just needs to be voted upon!

Here are some talking points:

Please bring the birds and bees protection act, S699-D to the floor for a vote.

The Senate cannot miss this opportunity to act--pass the bill this session.

This is a public health, food, and environmental issue.

With thanks for all you do to protect pollinators,

Katherine Nadeau, Deputy Director Catskill Mountian Keeper

Check out the River Reporter's Spring Issue of Our Country Home Magazine. This shot taken by Professor Larry Reeger of my honey drippn' hand feeding the local bees is 🔥!
Annemarie Schuetz and I had a wonderful conversation about the importance of bees and pollinators in general.
