The Feast Day of Our Lady of Czestochowa is August 26. This is the image of the Blessed Virgin Mary with the Infant Jesus. Blessed Mary Angela, (foundress of the Felician Sisters) consecrated herself to God in front of the image of Our Lady of Czestochowa on November 21, 1855.

She is the patron of the Felician Sisters (Felician Sisters of North America) and country of Poland. Our Lady of Czestochowa, please pray for us!

St. Mary Child Care Center had its Young Children's Worship Summer Vacation Bible School with Noah's Ark theme on August 10, 13, and 14. The children prayed, sang songs, listened to the story of Noah's Ark, and were offered enrichments to help them grow in their faith. We are blessed this summer to be surrounded by the beautiful Noah's Ark handmade artwork in the Skyroom.

Blessed Mother Virgin Mary, please pray for us!

Prayer for the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary:

Father in heaven,
all creation rightly gives you praise,
for all life and all holiness come from you.
In the plan of your wisdom
she who bore the Christ in her womb
was raised body and soul in glory to be with him in heaven.
May we follow her example in reflecting your holiness
and join in her hymn of endless love and praise.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

St. Clare of Assisi is one of the patron saints of the Felician Sisters Sponsored-Ministries of Felician Sisters of North America. The feast day of St. Clare of Assisi is August 11th.

The Feast of the Transfiguration of Jesus is celebrated on August 6th. This year Pope Leo XIV celebrated mass in Assisi, Italy. This a reflection from part of Pope Leo's homily:

"The Feast of the Transfiguration, which we are celebrating, is a mystery of light that enriches our encounter — one that is so joyful yet also raises questions about the present and the future. In the Gospel, we find the contrast between light and shadow, silence and words, wonder and incomprehension. Today, we are in Assisi, a city to which countless pilgrims have made their way for centuries, because here everything whispers that our lives can take on a new form, radiate light and heal the world. It was here that the transformation of Francis, Clare and then thousands of other young people began. They embraced the Gospel sine glossa — we could say, in its simplicity — then the life of Jesus began anew within them."
