You know you’re getting old when kids you had in 3 year old Preschool are getting ready for high school… 👵🏼 And for the record, no I’m not tutoring him. This old girl has been teaching 5 year olds for way too long and would not be a proficient Algebra tutor.🤣🤷🏻‍♀️

But on a more serious note, these kinds of texts are my favorite. Seeing my students flourish as they grow up is one of the biggest joys of my life. Every single kid I teach holds a special place in my heart, always.♥️

Was so spoiled this week by gifts and love notes from my students, and catered breakfast, lunch, ice cream and massages from our administration, school board, and PTO!! ♥️ One of my fantastic families sent in a gift every day of the week, SO sweet!!

I hope you felt special and appreciated this week too!!🤗

MARCH MADNESS WINNER!!📚

Totally forgot to take pictures before leaving for Spring Break, so here is the updated book bracket for March Madness!

Students LOVED this book challenge and it definitely encouraged us to read more books “just for fun”. It was also a great way to expose my students to books they otherwise wouldn’t have chosen from our library. Now these books are all in high demand on library days when students swap out their book box books. Can’t wait to plan our bracket for next year!!✨

This. So much this.

By doing my March Madness Book Brackets for Reading Month, we’ve had the opportunity to work in more picture books “just for fun”! It’s been such a good time sharing some really great authors and texts with my students, but NOTHING beats the laughter. The laughter from this week alone has carried me through the exhaustion and stress leading up to Spring Break and all that’s left to do before this year comes to a close. So when I read this quote from it really struck a chord with me. It really is the little things that you always remember and cherish.

And if you’re looking for a book you will laugh your face off reading, laugh so hard you’ll cry in front of your students, so hard that you can barely finish reading, get a copy of Larry the Farting Leprechaun. We almost didn’t get through it because we were having so much fun. That experience with my students will live in my heart forever.♥️

CHICKA CHICKA🌴

Obligatory first bulletin board of the school year post! So excited to finally have student work up in the hallways this year.

And also, congrats if you’re like me and just finished up your first week of school!!👏🏻 Being back in person is tough; I’m dealing with behaviors, my feet hurt and I’m so exhausted, but I can tell it’s going to be a great year. With the support of a great team, I’m gonna keep my head up and persevere!✨

✏️FUN STUFF🖍

I was determined to get ALL the things done today… including printing and binding .e drawing guides (that I got during the TPT sale👏🏻)! They look SO good and I’m so excited for my kiddos to use them during writing time.

I laminated the front and back covers for durability and used an old school style binding machine, which did the trick! They turned out great!!😄

BACK TO SCHOOL🤓

Today I was pulling out the charts I use for first-week-of-school activities and realized I never pulled off the post it’s and hearts from 2 years ago in 2019. I can’t believe the last time I taught students in person was that long ago… and those kiddos are heading into second grade!!😭

COVID has really messed with me mentally and emotionally these last 18 months, but I’m excited and ready to start a new year with a fresh and positive perspective!!♥️

NEW CRAYON BOXES!🖍

I haven’t setup a classroom since 2019 and there are so many things I forgot need to be done. My to do list keeps getting longer and longer, but surprisingly I don’t feel stressed about it and that feels GREAT!👏🏻

I bought these crayon boxes from the Dollar Tree several years ago to replace the old ones and am finally getting around to labeling them. Excited to do these fun, little things that I didn’t get to do last year.

Ready for a BRIGHT year!!💡

Excited to meet my new group of Kinders during Popsicles on the Playground tomorrow!! I will be teaching in person this year and am ready to get back to some sense of normalcy (whatever that means😂). We might be wearing masks, but I will have kids in the classroom!!👏🏻
