Prices are dropping on AR parts! If you ever wanted to build one, keep your eyes open. Pre-craziness, uppers were around $200+, bolt carrier groups were $80ish, lowers were $50, lower part kits were $30ish, and buffer setups were $30 most places.

Just a heads up - it’s currently a 9 month wait for an appointment to get your Concealed Weapon Permit in Wayne County.

The Wayne County Clerk’s office has been slow on the draw in the permits allowing residents to carry a concealed handgun.

A good buddy give me a bag of bad ammo someone have him. Turns out, a lot of the reloads were pushed down too far (.45 ACPs are supposed to be 1.275 long), which would have over-pressured them. If you’re going to shoot ‘range ammo’, or someone gives you a bag of bullets with no box, make sure you don’t take it for granted that they’re good rounds - it doesn’t hurt to double-check.

Here’s a thought for you - you probably know, guns are scarce right now. Because of elections and the pandemic, panic-driven people are buying up guns and ammo in staggering amounts.

So that a-hole you saw in line with 14 cases of paper towels? He’s armed now.

Which also means gun manufacturers are in a hurry to get rifles out the door, so make sure you inspect anything new before you take it to the range. The rifle below wouldn’t send the bolt back - turns out Bear Creek hadn’t bothered to tighten down the gas block, so it was moving around and preventing air from resetting the bolt.

Stay smart, because you can’t depend on the public to.

It’s incredibly easy to build your own rifle. While parts are difficult to find right now, they’re not impossible. If you’d like a class in building your own AR, please let me know- I’ll order the parts and help you assemble them, or even just give you a list of websites for you to order your own parts.
