Our first week is "in the books".
If you've read your first newsletter, you'll want to watch for upcoming posts that explain the Montessori terms, "grace and courtesy" and "human tendencies".
This week teachers provided lessons to "orient" the students to routines and beginning lessons, such as "how to roll a rug". Everyone was glad to see old friends and make new ones! Looking forward to an amazing year!

What a fun first day! Today our kindergarteners dressed as Dr. Montessori during her years in India and Italy while our first grader greeted everyone as her son, Mario.

The Feast Day of Our Lady of Czestochowa is August 26. This is the image of the Blessed Virgin Mary with the Infant Jesus. Blessed Mary Angela, (foundress of the Felician Sisters) consecrated herself to God in front of the image of Our Lady of Czestochowa on November 21, 1855.

She is the patron of the Felician Sisters (Felician Sisters of North America) and country of Poland. Our Lady of Czestochowa, please pray for us!

Montessori Center of Our Lady held its Summer Bible Camp with the theme “Magnified! Discovering the Bigness of God in the Smallest of Things: Psalm 34:3” on August 17, 18, and 19. The children prayed, sang songs, listened to stories from the Bible such as, “Jesus Blesses the Children,” “The Woman at the Well,” and “Jesus and Nicodemus.” They also learned how “Important They Are to God.” They were offered various enrichments and activities to help them grow in their faith. We had very special guests visit the Children's House and Elementary children--our very own Felician Sisters: Sister Beatrice Marie Plamondon, CSSF and Sister Wirginia Nowak, CSSF from the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Convent. They read the “Creation Story” from the Young Children’s Bible, joyfully joined in prayerful music and movement, and we even received a lesson on the Polish language from Sister Wirginia! Sister Wirgina is visiting from Rome, Italy and is from Warsaw, Poland. She is a General Council Member of the Felician Sisters. The Elementary Children were taught by Sister Beatrice and Sister Wirginia how to make a 10-bead rosary that they could also take home with them. The children were introduced to the prayers of the rosary as well. They were blessed with handmade prayer cards of the Blessed Mother Virgin Mary and Infant Jesus, and a sign for their classroom in Children’s House. We are so grateful to Sister Beatrice and Sister Wirginia for their time, prayers and being such an important presence in our lives and education. We are so blessed and thankful to be part of the legacy of the Felician Sisters of North America!

Last week of summer camp! Ms. Genevieve is sharing bible stories (with puppets) and songs with our students (YCC included).
We've appreciated all the students and families that have joined us to celebrate our themes, esp. the musical on Friday. Ms. Aria, Ms. Shalanda, and Ms. Kayla worked hard with the elementary students to prepare their show!
