My father passed away 2010. I think of him often but especially at this time of the year. This was a favorite of his and my mother who was too sick to attend the recital this year. I really missed her not being there. ❤️

Our Studio participated in the Sandcastles Children Grief Support Fundraiser at Laurel Park Mall, Livonia on Dec 2nd. Our students shared joyful music with family, friends, and mall shoppers. Thank you to Henry Ford Health Systems and Livonia Area Piano Teachers Forum for co-sponsoring such a worthy event.

A dear and wise friend at church once told me that my musical talent and training made me special. She meant it and expressed such appreciation for how I served as the church choir director. That was almost 20 years ago. Thank you, Joanne Sedor. You are very special and made a big difference in my life.

This is my former violin teacher, Yasha Tulchinsky. When I was 15 years old, I didn’t have a lot of confidence in my violin playing. He was a tough teacher but the life lesson he shared was powerful.

One day, I went to a lesson and I didn’t practice before it. Yasha could tell I wasn’t practicing at home because I would keep stopping and starting during the musical piece. He had a large mirror in his studio and told me to look in the mirror while I was playing the violin. He said, “Eric, you will be great!”

That was the first time I ever had anyone say this to me. My confidence as a musician grew immensely after the lesson. I went home and started practicing in front of my mirror and never forgot his positive words.

Sometimes you just need someone who believes in you and reminds you to never give up. If this message inspires you, spread it with someone. Stay inspired ❤️
