We had an INCREDIBLE turnout at our Ice Cream Social! Students connected, played games, and enjoyed some delicious ice cream. The vibes and energy are so good in CAPA right now. This year is off to a FANTASTIC start, and we can't wait for what's to come.

We had an AMAZING time welcoming our incoming 9th graders at yesterday's CAPA Kickoff! It's such an exciting time to be a part of CAPA. A special shout out to our CAPA Senior Class of 2027 for their creative and energetic opening number. We can't wait for the upcoming school year!

Congrats to Oliver who was recently recognized with our Theater Tech Sponge Award. This honor is given to the student who soaks it all in; the knowledge, the challenges, and the opportunities. Oliver stepped up in a major way this year in a variety of tech roles. Way to go, Oliver! We're so proud of you!

Incoming 9th grade CAPA students, please check your LPS email for some important information about the CAPA Communications Google Classroom. We ask all CAPA students and at least one parent/guardian to join the 2026/2027 CAPA Communications Google Classroom.

Congratulations to Nora, Christopher, and Lewis who recently participated in the Sutton Foster Awards. These awards recognize individual artistry in vocal, dance, and acting performances for two outstanding performers in a leading role in a high school musical theater production. Additionally, Gavin received the Backstage Spotlight Award for his lighting design of our fall production of Hadestown: Teen Edition. It also honors the commitment of Michigan teachers and schools to excellence in performing arts education. The CAPA program was also recognized for choreography, costume design, direction, lighting design, and scenic design.

"Careful the things you say, children will listen." What started out as a casual, off the cuff comment in the fall of 2022 somehow turned into a (hard) core memory. So long to the Class of 2026. All of CAPA is going to miss you.

A man of his word: Mr. Wiklanski allowed the CAPA Seniors to dress him for school today during their final week. A promise he made to them years ago.
