Dear Student,

SAT® registration is now open for Spring 2027! Many colleges require or consider SAT scores as part of their admission and placement decisions, and your score can be a great way to show colleges you’re ready.

Many juniors take their first SAT in the spring, giving them time to receive their scores and decide whether they’d like to take it again. Your SAT score can help keep your college options open, highlight your unique strengths, and even help you qualify for scholarships.

Freshmen and Sophomores—you can get a head start too! You don’t have to wait until your junior year to begin preparing. Now is a great time to become familiar with the SAT, strengthen your skills, explore available resources, and start building confidence before testing becomes a priority. Taking advantage of these resources early can help you feel more prepared when your time comes.

Registering early also gives you plenty of time to prepare with 100% FREE practice resources, including tailored practice, skill-building through Khan Academy®, and small-group tutoring through Schoolhouse.World.

Whether you're a freshman just beginning to think about college, a sophomore ready to get a head start, or a junior preparing to take the SAT, take advantage of the resources available to you now!

See the upcoming 2027 SAT dates and deadlines and sign up using the link below.

Start early. Prepare with purpose. Keep your college options open!

💼 College & Career Night 🎓

Our GEAR UP students are gearing up for their future! Last night, our team had the opportunity to participate in College and Career Night, hosted by the high school. Students in grades 8 through 12 explored local businesses, connected with colleges from all over Texas, and chatted with counselors about next steps.

It was a wonderful evening for our students to keep building their plans for what comes after graduation. A huge thank you to every 8th, 9th, and 10th grader—and their families—who showed up last night and made the most of it. We can't wait for the next one!

🎓 LJH National GEAR UP Week 🎓

This year’s National GEAR UP Week gave our 8th graders at Livingston Junior High the chance to explore their futures through hands-on experiences and real-world education.

The week began with a visit to Angelina College where students took a behind-the-scenes look at careers in health science. They toured the Health Careers I simulation lab, explored the Anatomage table, and had the opportunity to ask questions directly to Winifred Ferguson-Adams, Dean of Health Careers, about AC’s incredible programs and opportunities.

We also welcomed Juan from CoolSpeak for a resume-building workshop tailored to our Foundations of Business students. They learned what makes a strong resume, how to highlight their unique experiences, and why starting now is key to preparing for their future.

A huge thank you to all our partners, sponsors, and—most importantly—our students for making this National GEAR UP Week such a success! We’re already looking forward to next year. 🎉
