Join us as we celebrate Red Ribbon Week with fun dress-up days and a commitment to making healthy, safe, and positive choices!

❤️ Monday, October 26 – Wear Red Day Wear red to show your support for being drug free!

💚 Tuesday, October 27 – Camo Day Wear your favorite camouflage clothing!

🌺 Wednesday, October 28 – Luau Day Dress in your favorite tropical or Hawaiian attire!

🚀 Thursday, October 29 – Outer Space Day Blast off into a drug-free future! Wear your favorite space-themed outfit!

📚 Friday, October 30 – Storybook Character Day Dress as your favorite storybook character and bring a little reading magic to school!

We started our day with Dads on Duty welcoming our students, and our Cedar Grove PTO brought the Spirit Store for some extra Friday fun! A special shout-out to our Livingston High School students who joined us as greeters this morning. We love seeing our community come together for our kids! 💚

Then we gathered for our Principal’s Assembly, where we talked about some important life lessons:
⭐ Believing in ourselves
🚽 Making respectful and responsible choices in the restroom
✋ Making safe choices when we are angry
🚫 Understanding that threats are no joke—our words matter
🗣️ Asking an adult for help when we need it

Our students practiced thinking through real-life situations and making choices that help keep themselves and others safe.

It was a morning full of school spirit, community, learning, and growing together!

💚🦁 What a FUN Homecoming Week at CGE! 🦁💚
We had a great time showing our Lion pride, dressing up, and making memories together! From green and black to some pretty creative outfits, our students brought the Homecoming spirit all week long.
And while we definitely had FUN, the learning never stopped! 📚💚 That’s what we love to see at CGE—working hard, learning every day, and making school a place where kids love to be!

Lava Lamp Science in Ms. Hartsell’s Class!
Our 4th grade scientists had a blast exploring mixtures and solutions by creating their own mini lava lamps! Students made predictions, conducted an experiment, and recorded observations to see how different substances interact.
Students learned that a mixture is made when substances are combined but remain separate, while a solution forms when one substance dissolves evenly into another. By observing their lava lamps, students were able to see the difference firsthand and use evidence from their experiment to explain their thinking!

Our 1st graders celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month on Thursday by sharing a special treat with our CGE staff! 🎉❤️
Students delivered chicle, a traditional chewing gum treat, to staff members throughout the school. It was a sweet way for our youngest students to practice sharing with others while celebrating and learning about Hispanic culture and traditions. 🌎🍬

Our 4th and 5th grade students celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month in a fun and meaningful way! 🎉
Students practiced their public speaking and communication skills as they delivered delicious conchas to adults throughout CGE. As they shared the treats, students explained what conchas are and that they were sharing them in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
What a great way to combine culture, learning, and real-world speaking skills—with a little something sweet! Thank you Mrs. Parrish for letting the students share part of their culture!❤️🌎

What a fun night with our CGE families! 💚 Families came out to enjoy nachos, lemonade, music, dancing, singing, and reading together! 📚🎶

A huge shoutout to Sadelina Dowling, who was a fantastic DJ and kept the fun going all evening! 🎧💃

Thank you to everyone who came out and volunteered to make tonight such a success. And a special thank you to Cedar Grove PTO for providing the gift cards for our prizes! 🎁

🐊🐍🐢 The wildlife learning continued at CGE!

Our Texas Game Warden, Officer Nolan Arnold and Officer Brady Crump, stayed with us today to give our 3rd grade students an up-close look at some of our local wildlife!

We are so thankful for community partners who take the time to invest in our students and bring learning to life. Experiences like this give our students real-world connections that make classroom learning even more meaningful. 💚🖤

And judging by these pictures…our 3rd graders were ALL IN! 📸🐊

💗 Lil Belles – Pink Out! 💗
Calling all dancers in Pre-K through 8th grade! Come learn a routine with the Emerald Belles and perform at the Pink Out Game on October 16!

Registration: $40

Practices: Livingston High School
- Tuesday, Oct. 13 | 5:30–7:00 PM
- Thursday, Oct. 15 | 5:30–7:00 PM
Doors open at 5:00 PM.

Performances:
- Parents’ Showcase — Thursday, Oct. 15 at 6:30 PM
- Pink Out Game — Friday, Oct. 16 at halftime at Lion Stadium

Participants should bring water and wear athletic shorts, a T-shirt, and tennis shoes.

Come dance with the Emerald Belles and show your Lion Pride!
