For Nancy Lopus, Newark Academy has always been a family affair. Inspired by her sister's deep connection to NA and her own lifelong career as an educator, Nancy has chosen to give back through a planned gift.

Together with her sister, Marjorie Lopus Jameson ’77, Nancy established an endowed scholarship honoring their parents, creating opportunities for deserving NA students for generations to come.

Throwback! Students in Advanced Mandarin tested both their language and cooking skills by making steamed pork bao buns. The students engaged in experiential learning through all parts of the process, including going grocery shopping at Kam Man Market, following a Mandarin cooking tutorial, and filming, editing, and recording a voice over in the Mandarin language of their own cooking process. 🧑‍🍳

This past June, 21 Newark Academy students traveled to Spain to complete their Immersion Experience Requirement! 🌏

The students spent time in Madrid and Galicia, improving their Spanish skills, enjoying authentic Spanish cuisine and immersing themselves in the local culture while living with host families.

35 years ago, Newark Academy became the first school in New Jersey to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Now, just over half of each graduating class at Newark Academy completes the full IB Diploma, while most others take one or more IB courses as part of a personalized academic program.

It's time for some summer check-ins! ☀️

We have been catching up with some of our student-athletes to see how they've been spending their summers, from training opportunities to national competitions and everything in between.

First up: Izzy Jordan '28 🏑

Izzy traveled to the Netherlands to train with renowned goalie coach Martijn Drijver while attending the Sport Eurotour Camp.

She also competed at the Battle of the Giants tournament at Duke with her club team, facing off against some of the top field hockey programs from around the country.
