Today, the NA Community Engagement Council hosted its annual Community Engagement Fair!

Students explored 25+ opportunities to get involved in meaningful service both on and off campus. From organizations addressing food insecurity and homelessness to those supporting animals, local nonprofits, and NA clubs and councils, there are so many ways to make a difference in our community.

📚✨ A look back at Newark Academy’s history!

On Saturday, September 19, Newark Academy Archivist and Humanities Faculty member Jim Coe joined the Newark History Society at Tubman Square to share the story of Newark Academy’s founding and its early history through the Revolutionary War.

“I thought this was an exciting opportunity to continue to strengthen the ties of Newark Academy and the city of our founding," says Jim. "On a gorgeous Saturday, I got to share the truly interesting story of Newark Academy's creation and its role as both a hospital and a barracks during the American Revolution. ”

During this morning's delayed opening our faculty and staff came together for a professional development session focused on the future of Newark Academy. Through small-group discussions, employees shared their insights and perspectives to help shape our next strategic plan and support our upcoming NJAIS accreditation process.

The session also featured a presentation from our Strategic Planning Committee, including NA Trustee Pat Budziak, Assistant Head of School for Strategy and Operations Lou Scerra, and Director of Enrollment Management and Institutional Strategy Alexis Sommers, to help guide the conversation as we look ahead!
