What Plants (and Kids) Teach Us About Growth

Iā€™ve always loved my houseplants, but it wasnā€™t until I became a daycare director that I saw how much they resemble the children I care for.

Like plants, children need sunlight, nourishment, and love to thrive. Whether itā€™s a sprouting seed or a shy smile, growth takes patience and consistent care. This week, as I watered my plants, I whispered a prayer of gratitude for being part of both their journeys. Watching both flourish is a reminder of the power of showing up every day, even when growth feels slow.

Yes, the extra income was part of it, but more than that, I started to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Pushing myself out thereā€”WAY out thereā€”has been everything.
