I love quilting for others but sometimes I like to take a short break and make something. I cut strips of fabric at various widths and sewed them to a piece of batting with fusible interfacing on the backside. Trimmed to fit a composition notebook and made a journal cover. A great way to use up scraps. Especially jelly roll leftovers.

Sometimes you just have to take time out to play. I spent the day with Leslie Gregory Gruesbeck yesterday and we had a blast playing on her Gammill Statler. The quilt will be donated to a charity after binding.

I had the pleasure of custom quilting the 2027 donation quilt for Livingston Piecemakers Quilt Guild pieced by Sarah Hiatt. Tickets will go on sale later in September or October. Ticket prices are $1 each or 6 for $5.

With a collaboration with my customer Angie we were able to complete her Family Heritage quilt.
This was a fun quilt to work on. Some really cool Family history to admire.
I stitched a frame around each picture and document to add more interest to the piece. Each feather in the eagle (or hawk) is individually stitched to give it more of a feathery texture.
What a keepsake for years to come and to pass down to generations.
Good job, Angie, on your documents, pictures and other applique . You put a lot of detail into each one!
