WKFFC is honored to welcome Demi Guo - Director/Producer of the documentary film “New York Jianghu 紐約江湖 “. She is also a martial artist, journalist, and managing editor of the Asian American International Film Festival in New York.

Jiang Hu 江湖 👎 - “rivers and lakes”, used to describe martial arts society”.

New York Jianghu is a feature documentary about the kung fu community of the five boroughs, and the long-overlooked figures that have formed the mythos of kung fu films. Kung fu has meant something different for each generation since it left China and entered the streets of Chinatown. It was a means of making money on the side, entertainment via Bruce Lee and the Wu-Tang Clan, and now combating anti-Asian hate in a rapidly-gentrifying New York. -Demi Guo

Congratulations to our Lion Dance Team member and Sparring Coach Harrison Lee, who as a New Jersey State Trooper, was awarded the 200 Club of Middlesex County Meritorious Service Award for his investigative expertise in tracking a suspect across three states and apprehending the fugitive for the crime of aggravated manslaughter. Thank you for keeping us safe!

His growth has been incredible to witness. Proud of the young man he’s become.
