Creative education is when students are able to use imagination and critical thinking to create new and meaningful forms of ideas where they can take risks, be independent and flexible.[1] Instead of being taught to reiterate what was learned, students learn to develop their ability to find various solutions to a problem. Coming up with various out-of-the box solutions is known as divergent thinking and there is no one way of cultivating this skill - largely due to the newness of the concept and the limited scientific information on creativity.

“The evanescence of bel canto”
There is a current ambiguity about the term bel canto. It is largely believed that it’s technique and insight has slipped from our current apprehension.
What has changed from the vocal technique from before 1830 and to after 1830? I feel we live in a noisier world. One didn’t commonly hear trains, trucks and cars. I feel my students subconsciously are competing with the volume of the post industrial age. They even imitate machines, instead of a blithe disposition students, now students tend to focus on the power of their intonation. And like love, “if you chase it it will disappear. Chase it not, and it will subside.”

Vocal students would do well to watch vocal masterclasses. The techniques of classical vocal music are standard vocal pedagogy. They are the only technique for voice. Opera is a style but the technique applies to all good singing. Vocalists may prefer to sing in another milieu yet the effectual pedagogy of the classical instruction always applies.

I am increasing surprised when I go on YouTube to find an example of a singing technique. I now see only crazy videos by novice singers whom are giving very bad examples on singing technique and pedagogy.
I suppose the art of singing is a guarded trade secret. Its disappointing to hear all the specious reasoning. These sophists are misguiding potential vocalists.

Take voice lessons from the expert in vocal development, Ken Garlow. A great teacher can launch the pupil forward with all the skills at their disposal, and in contrast a teacher with improper vocal pedagogy can leave a pupil's voice out of balance, with bad habits that stifle the vocal clarity and ease.
