Once again, students at CSE have the opportunity to participate in the American Heart Association's Kids Heart Challenge. KHC is a program that raises funds and awareness for heart disease. Heart disease is the number one killer of Americans today.
In Physical Education, every student is learning Hands Only CPR, recognizing the signs of a stroke, and learning the signs of a heart attack.
In addition to learning Hands Only CPR, the students also have the opportunity to practice!
Students learned to recognize the signs of a stroke by watching and listening to the FAST song.
The warning signs of a heart attack (in English and Spanish) are part of the KHC flyer that each student received. The students have been encouraged to place this on the family's refrigerator.
All of this information can be found on the Kids Heart Challenge website.
