1 month update 🌿

The zucchini plant is completely dead 😅 and the squash plant is well on it’s way... but the jalapeños and green bell peppers are THRIVING!! It’s been just watching these little plants grow! 🌱

Our garden is growing fast! 🌿 We had to move the location of it just so it was getting enough sunlight! 🌞 The plants have been LOVING the rain this week! 💙 Go check the highlight to see the growth!!

Hey y’all, last week we went to meet with Andrew Williams. He took us all around West Alabama to meet local farmers who are giving back to the community. In this case they are growing purple hull peas!

The word of the week is: Field Heat. Field heat can be defined as the difference in temperature of the crop harvested and the optimal storage temperature of that product. The temperature should be cooled down till it reaches 88% of the existing difference in the temperature and its optimal storage temperature. Fun Fact: after the product is harvested, the faster the product is cooled down will make its lifetime longer on the store shelves.

When creating compost, it is very important to remember to add in some worms. The worms will eat all the great things you put inside and p**p out the fertilizer to make your plants thrive! 😂
