As many of you already know, this past year's recital marked the final recital for Joan Condlin's Liverpool School of Dance. While it's bittersweet to say goodbye, I wanted to take a moment to honor the two incredible women who made this studio what it was.
Joan Condlin, my grandmother...
She poured her heart into creating a place where children could not only learn to dance, but also build confidence, friendships, and lifelong memories. She taught generations of dancers, and her passion touched so many lives. She built an amazing community.
Mary Condlin, my mother...
She took over the studio and carried on that same love and dedication. She nurtured dancers, inspired them to grow both on and off the stage, and welcomed EVERY student as part of our family. One of her main goals was to make sure every child had a place to dance and belong. After so many years of giving her heart to this studio, she made the difficult but intententional decision to close this chapter.
To everyone who danced through our doors—thank you. Thank you for trusting our family with your children, for sharing your milestones with us, and for filling the studio with laughter, hard work, and unforgettable memories. So many of you became more than students. You became family. The relationships built within those walls will always mean more than any recital, trophy, or performance ever could.
I couldn't be more proud of my grandmother for starting this incredible legacy and of my mom for carrying it forward with so much love and grace and adding her own special touches. The impact they've had on generations of dancers will continue to live on in every life they touched.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who was a part of our story and who let my grandma and mom be a part of yours.
