History
In 1871, the Livermore School District #9 was established to serve 25 families in the Livermore Valley. The first classes were held in 1874 in a one-room, dirt floor, sod roof dugout along the banks of the North Fork of the Cache La Poudre River, 23 miles northwest of Fort Collins. After a steer stepped through the roof of the school, the classes were held in a home and a cabin. A small co

untry schoolhouse was built in 1884 and used until the present day schoolhouse was built in 1953. In 1961, the Livermore School was consolidated with the Poudre School District. The present-day Livermore Elementary School has undergone several additions in 1981, 1999, 2002, and 2006. Learning culture
Featuring a multi-graded learning environment, Livermore has four certified teachers with classrooms divided as K–1, 2–3, 4–5 and resource. Our intimate atmosphere allows staff members to know every student and encourages a high level of instruction and learning opportunities. Academic environment
We offer full-day kindergarten, a challenging math program, and learning opportunities focusing on literacy instruction. This includes a rigorous literature-based reading series and integration of reading and writing. A fully networked computer lab and a media center complement all instruction. Instructional & enrichment programs
We use differentiated instruction in our multi-age classrooms to deliver the PSD standards-based curriculum. We also offer an array of enrichment opportunities for all of our students. Enrichment activities include the Poudre River Ecology Program (PREP), Odyssey of the Mind, ECO Week, Accelerated Reader and student council. Gifted students are identified and offered appropriate extended learning opportunities through the Explorer program and daily classroom activities. Opportunities for parents
Parents are an integral part of our success in our small school environment. Our highly supportive PTO meets monthly and hosts an annual pie auction. Parents volunteer in classrooms, teach or assist with enrichment classes, and help create a wonderful learning culture. Thank you for visiting the Livermore Elementary School page! Mountain Schools staff have been working hard all week collaborating with each other to prepare for another amazing school year! We spent time at all three buildings to share our space and ideas :) We have some new staff joining our team this year so be sure to say hi and give them a BIG welcome! We are soooo excited to see your kiddos on Wednesday, August 19th!!! See you in the halls!!!

Happy National Book Lovers Day!!! I hope you spent the day curled up with a good book! :) With only 10 days before school starts, we are excited to see the kids soon and look forward to checking out books from our amazing library...we've added SOOO many new books, so there should be lots of great reads for everyone!
