We are doing a food drive to benefit Tri-Valley Haven's Livermore food pantry (http://www.trivalleyhaven.org/about-us.html).
I know each of you probably contribute in your own special way, but if you are looking for somewhere to donate this year, Tri-Valley Haven specifically needs: Powdered Milk, Coffee, Cooking Oil, Canned Fruit, Oatmeal and Peanut Butter. Other non-perishable food donations are also appreciated, but those are the staples they are specifically in need of right now. Let me know if you'd like to make a donation and we can plan a park play-date drop-off!
Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!

We made Pumpkin and Ghost mini-pizzas today. The Pillsbury "artisan" whole wheat crust is actually pretty good. The kids had fun making them and putting on their own toppings.... And the best part, they even ate them :)

Hooray for mud puddles!!!!

If nap time always went as smoothly as it has today, I'd write a how-to book and be a millionaire ;) Lets hope I'm on to something!

I can't say that TV is a normal part of our curriculum, but watching the shuttle take off bolted to a jet on NASA TV this morning was definitely a hit with the kids. Wish it had come a bit closer so we could have seen it in person!

Ants on a Log with rocks and flowers for snack this morning accompanied, of course, by a little song. Quite the performance piece if I do say so my self.... "And they all go marching on to the banana to get eaten by the kiddos, doo, doo, do"

We got ambitious on our nature walk play date today. I think we went about a mile ;) The kids loved playing in a new section of the creek, and playing follow the leader down the trail. So glad we have friends who love to get out and play in the dirt!

Outdoors is the main classroom at Holderness preschool | New Hampshire NEWHAMPSHIRE03
The children make decisions for themselves, rain or shine, wind or snow. It's all in a day's work at the Blue Heron School, a nature preschool at the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center in Holderness.

I love the Arroyo Trail! Perfect for water play on a hot day :)

We finished the Summer Reading Game at the library today. The kids were quite excited about their stars and bears, but I think it is really cool that they were even more excited about picking out more books!

Fun morning in the back yard today. Big bubble wands, sidewalk chalk on the easels, trains, new sand in the sandbox, and, best of all, the new playhouse Ryan spent most of the weekend assembling :)
