We have had a great 3 weeks with the lack of COVID numbers (quarantines and positive cases) in the county and in our schools. With that being said, we will start 5 days a week in-person instruction next Monday for the students that want to go in-person. Parents/guardians will still be able to keep their child all virtual if they wish to do so.

MCPS Community,

Tomorrow, Feb. 18, will be an all virtual day again for all students due to the new Winter Storm Advisory through tomorrow evening. With another snow storm approaching and our minor roads still covered with snow and ice, we must stay virtual tomorrow.

The week’s snow has put up a roadblock for us to start bringing back our kid’s in-person this week. Below is the new in-person schedule for the rest of the week. The goal was to have all our students back in-person 4 days a week by March 8th. This goal will still happen. Below is our new weekly in-person schedule starting next week. As we have before, any parent/guardian that wants their child to stay all virtual in our Virtual Academy may do so.

Feb 22 Week:
• K-1st, 6th, 12th, and students with special services and targeted interventions will be 4 days a week. The rest of the students will be on their same A/B schedule.
• Also, we will be going Mon, Tuesday, Wed, and Thursday this week only due to staff's vaccine shots.
• Transportation will start back next week for all in-person and A/B schedule students.
• Food Service will also start back curb-side meal pickup along with take-home meals will be offered for in-person students.

March 1 Week:
• K-5, 6-8, 11th/12th graders, and students with special services and targeted interventions will be 4 days a week. 9th and 10th will be on their A/B schedule.
