🎺 Season Highlight: Guest Clinician Dave Richards

On Sunday, February 8, East Bay Jazz welcomes Dave Richards for an exclusive rehearsal and clinic session with our Big Band and Combo — a rare chance to work with a world‑class brass artist.

Dave earned both his BM in Jazz Arranging and MM in Jazz Composition from the University of North Texas, where he performed trumpet and trombone with the Grammy‑nominated One O’Clock Lab Band. Since graduating, he’s toured internationally with big bands and Broadway productions, worked as a freelance brass player, composer, arranger, and bandleader in Los Angeles, and recorded or performed with artists ranging from the Glenn Miller Orchestra to Katy Perry. Most recently, he joined the legendary Oakland R&B/funk ensemble Tower of Power as a lead trumpet and trombone player.

This session is an extraordinary opportunity for student musicians to learn directly from a top professional with deep expertise in jazz, brass performance, arranging, and composition.
