Meet Anand Kumar Sankaran, a nature and outdoor photographer whose journey into photography grew alongside his love of hiking and exploring the wilderness. His adventures have taken him into the Sierra Nevada and beyond, capturing the landscapes and moments that make getting outside worth the journey.

A painter and art educator based in Pleasanton, Jenna’s work explores the beauty of the natural world, blending realistic and impressionistic painting with geometric forms inspired by the landscapes around us. 🌿

What a wonderful afternoon celebrating art, history, and community! ❤️

“Yesterday Once More, Scenes from the Past” continues through October 10 at the UNCLE Credit Union Art Gallery at The Bankhead.

We were honored to hear Na Omi speak about her powerful installation artworks and the personal history and stories that inspire her work. Her reflections on Japanese American incarceration, the loss of culture and community, and the connections to experiences faced by others today offered an important and moving perspective.

As many of you know, our mom was an artist and historian, who often painted scenes of Livermore’s past. As our mom, Tilli would have appreciated, we attended opening night at The Bankhead Theater LVA, which was a fundraiser to help support art initiatives in the Livermore Valley. Lyle Lovett was the main show, but before we get into that, we want to take a moment to touch on the Yesterday Once More: Scenes from the Past exhibit that is being shown for free at the Bankhead Theater and the City of Pleasanton’s Harrington Gallery through October 10th. Two of our mom’s paintings of her childhood home, the Fairview Farm, are currently being displayed at the Bankhead. Here’s a little info about the paintings. We encourage all art lovers and historians to visit the Bankhead and support the local art scene in any way they can, in honor of Tilli. 🎨🎭

✨ Yesterday Once More: Scenes from the Past ✨

Step into the past and experience the stories, memories, and history that continue to shape our present in “Yesterday Once More, Scenes from the Past” at the UNCLE Credit Union Art Gallery at The Bankhead.

As part of the exhibition, three installation artworks by featured artist Na Omi Shintani will be on display. A Japanese American artist, Shintani explores culture, heritage, and history through installations, assemblages, sound, video, and augmented reality. Her work reflects on the Japanese American incarceration during World War II and connects the loss of culture and community to the experiences of Native Americans, refugees, and asylum seekers.

🎨 Join us for the Art Reception on Saturday, September 5, from 2–4 PM!

Bring your family and friends for a fun, nostalgic afternoon exploring the exhibition, meeting fellow artists, and enjoying old-fashioned treats including root b**r floats, lemonade, Moon Pies, and Cracker Jack.

Take a behind-the-scenes look at our newest exhibition, Yesterday Once More: Scenes from the Past, with Ken Ball, Assistant Exhibit Coordinator, at the UNCLE Credit Union Art Gallery at The Bankhead.

This collaborative exhibition with the City of Pleasanton’s Harrington Gallery explores nostalgia, memory, and personal history through artwork inspired by the people, places, and moments that linger with us.
