Here's an FFA Throwback Thursday!

While looking through some historical items of Suwannee FFA, we came across an Official Dress "Convention Cap." In 1933, the Blue Corduroy Jacket stitched with Golden Thread made its debut as part of the official dress of the National FFA Organization. The following year, at the 1934 National FFA Convention, these caps were being sold for only 10¢. Is there anyone who could tell us when these began phasing out from the official dress? We would love to see any photos of Suwannee FFA members wearing these types of caps!

Suwannee FFA Alumni Member, Maddie Carte is currently a Public Relations Intern with Florida Farm Bureau.

We are excited to continue spotlighting our amazing Florida Farm Bureau interns! Maddie Carte, the Public Relations Intern, recently joined the PR team to plan and host the 2026 Suwannee CARES event hosted in Live Oak on May 7.

"Having the opportunity to help organize CARES was truly full circle because of it not only being held in my home of Suwannee County, but because CARES was always a day I looked forward to growing up. CARES has always been essentially a family reunion and to be behind the scenes of its 25th year was remarkable and very rewarding," said Carte.

The Suwannee FFA Alumni is a Finalist for Outstanding Alumni Chapter within the Florida FFA Association. The Winner will be announced on Wednesday, June 17th during the Florida FFA State Convention.
