A HUGE thank you to Miss Wooley and Mrs. Moore for representing Suwannee Pineview Elementary at the District ELL/Migrant Family Night! 🌟

They did a wonderful job connecting with families and sharing important information about the value of regular school attendance, our PreK program, and the many things that make Pineview such a special place to learn and grow! 📚🌱

At Pineview, we believe that building strong relationships with our families is an important part of student success. We are proud to be a school where every student matters, every family is valued, and every child has the opportunity to succeed!

🚀🐾🪨 **OUR LEARNING ROCKS! Rock Detectives: Mission Complete!** 🔎🌟

Our 4th grade scientists turned into **ROCK DETECTIVES** as they took on a mission to uncover the mysteries of rocks! 🌎🪨

Armed with their reading comprehension skills, science notes, and detective minds, students worked in teams to investigate clues and sort mystery rocks into three categories: **Igneous, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic!** 🔥🌊⛰️

But this mission wasn't just about sorting rocks! Our young scientists had to **read carefully, think critically, collaborate, and defend their reasoning!** 🧠💡

Students engaged in some fantastic scientific discussions as they shared their thinking, compared clues, referred back to their notes, and explained WHY they believed each mystery rock belonged in a particular category. They quickly discovered that being a scientist means more than knowing the answer—it's about using **EVIDENCE to support your thinking!** 🔎👏

I loved watching these young detectives put their comprehension skills and science knowledge to work while learning from one another! 💚

🎃💦 Sink or Float? PreK Scientists at Work! 🔬🚀

Our little scientists in Mrs. Kiser and Mrs. Deaton’s PreK class had a blast exploring the science of sinking and floating! 🧪💡

Students investigated a variety of objects both inside and outside the classroom, making predictions and testing whether each item would sink or float. They even put a pumpkin to the test! 🎃💦

Through hands-on exploration, students discovered that just because an object is heavy doesn’t mean it will sink! They practiced observing, predicting, experimenting, and discussing their discoveries.

We love seeing our youngest Rockets building curiosity and developing their STEM skills through fun, engaging learning experiences! ❤️🚀

🎲 Roll, Build, and Learn! 📚

Mrs. Robinson’s ELA students practiced building words with suffixes in a fun dice game! Each partner took turns rolling the dice to determine which suffix to use and creating new words from a word list. The player with the most words wins—but the real winners are the students building their vocabulary and strengthening their word skills! 💙🤍

🎃📚 THE GREAT PUMPKIN CONTEST IS COMING TO SPE! 📚🎃

Our library is growing a Storybook Pumpkin Patch, and we need our students to help fill it up! 🐶🎃 Students are invited to decorate a real or fake pumpkin as their favorite storybook character—no carving required! 📖✨

Let your creativity run wild and help us save pumpkins from becoming jack-o-lanterns! 🎃❤️

📅 Bring your Storybook Pumpkin to the library during the week of October 19th. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative pumpkins in the patch! 🏆

RED RIBBON WEEK IS COMING!

Suwannee Pineview is excited to celebrate Red Ribbon Week, October 26–30! This year’s theme is:

“Make a Difference, Be a Hero, Stay Drug Free!”

We’re encouraging our students to make healthy choices, be positive role models, and make a difference in their school and community!

🎨 PreK–2nd Grade: Students can participate in our Poster Contest! Posters can be any size and are due Tuesday, October 27th. There will be one winner per grade level!

✏️ 3rd–5th Grade: Students will participate in an Essay Contest. Entries are due Tuesday, October 27th. More information will be coming home soon, so please be sure to check your child’s homework folder!

We can’t wait for our students to show us how they can make a difference, be a hero, and stay drug free!

A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Moore, our Guidance Counselor, and Miss Pacheco, one of our 4th grade teachers, for dedicating part of their weekend to attending the TESOL Conference! 📚❤️

This conference provided valuable strategies, resources, and ideas to better support our English Language Learners (ELLs) and help them succeed both academically and personally.

At Suwannee Pineview, our theme this year is “Growing Together, Achieving More,” and we truly believe that every student deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve success! 🌱✨

We are so thankful for educators who go above and beyond to continue learning and finding new ways to meet the needs of all students. Your dedication makes a difference, and we can’t wait to see these new strategies put into action!

🚀🔬 A Little WEIRD Science in 4th Grade! 🔬🚀

Who knew learning could be so WEIRD and so much FUN?! 🤩

Miss Marsee’s 4th grade students put their creativity and engineering skills to the test with a hands-on STEM challenge inspired by their brain break book, Mr. Docker Is Off His Rocker, from the My Weird School series! 📚

Students practiced the Engineering Design Process as they designed and built their very own popsicle stick catapults! 🛠️ They then put their creations to the test in a friendly competition, estimating how far their catapults could launch paper balls! 🎯

This exciting activity also served as a Chapter 1 science review and introduced students to researching different engineering designs using technology! 💻

We love seeing our students think critically, get creative, problem-solve, and bring learning to life! At Pineview, learning is anything but ordinary! 🚀❤️

Our little learners in our PreK classes have been busy building and creating! ❤️

This week, students explored important places and vehicles in our community that help us every day! From tractors and ships to fire trucks and hospitals, our little builders used their creativity and imagination to bring these community helpers to life! 🧱🔨

Through hands-on learning and play, students practiced problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity while discovering how different people and places help our community!

We love seeing our youngest Rockets building bright futures, one creation at a time! 🚀❤️
