Rebecca Stricker Music Studio Rebecca has played piano/sang for over 24 years and taught piano for 12 years and vocal lessons for over 10 years. She resides in the San Antonio, Texas area.

Rebecca is a singer, a Songwriter, a pianist, a piano and vocal coach, and a lover of all people. She has been singing and playing the piano for over 20 years now. Growing up in a musical household and around music since she was a child she sees now that music has changed in her life for the better in many ways. Rebecca has 9 years of vocal coaching experience and 12 years of piano teaching experience. In 2017, she received her certification in vocal performance through the Music Development Program sponsored by The Royal Conservatory of Canada. When she is not writing songs for her debut solo album, Rebecca loves hiking, dancing, reading a good book, enjoying conversations with other humans, and creating calligraphy and watercolor art. She has led worship and played music since the age of 7 years old. In 2016, Rebecca sang with the band Hearts Indwelled, and she was featured on their first EP Album. She was the worship pastor of Live Oak Vineyard church from April 2019-December 2020. When she is not teaching, Rebecca can be found singing and/or playing the piano at Open Mics and other small venues around San Antonio or virtual live streams on her YouTube channel Rebecca Stricker Music Studio and her page Rebecca Stricker Music Studio.Rebecca prides herself on coaching her students with the perspective that each of her students is an individual with different experiences, strengths, and weaknesses that combine to influence and shape their own unique musical journey. Therefore, her approach to coaching singers and pianists is to look at the individual goals of each of her students and to strive to find creative ways to meet those goals.

The Story Behind Rebecca Stricker Music Studio told by Rebecca

So I have been a music lover ever since I was a child. My Mom sang all kinds of music from ABBA to songs by Sandy Patty and broadway musicals and Christian Gospel, 80s and 90s Christian Music and Josh Groban and Andrea Boccelli. My Dad played music like Queen on his cassette player. So music has been big in my growing up years. I wanted to be a musician and an artist from the young age. Years ago at seven years old when I sang Once Upon A December at a school talent show I wanted to be Anastasia. When I became a teen I wanted to sing like Brittney and Christina and the Back Street Boys and *NSYNC with their great beats and harmonies. Then when I was 16 I discovered the Phantom of the Opera and wanted to be Christine Daae. I said I will never ever be good enough of a singer to sing Think of Me. I really wanted to sing that song and I shot myself down before I even tried. Then in music school for my senior recitaI I sang that song. I realized my whole life as an artist I was trying to impersonate other artists. So when I was in music school I stopped trying to be someone else and I was Me.

As I started to teach my first piano and vocal students in 2012 I realized that each student was different and would bring a different experience to the table. Each one had different goals for their music lessons, whether it was to play their favorite songs, learn to read sheet music, gain confidence in themselves, learn something new, or continue growing as a professional musician. I realized their are a myriad of different ways to teach and learn. So I started teaching each of my students individually as individuals instead of using the cookie cutter formula I was taught by my professional piano/vocal coaches. It has helped me to realize that different students need different music, curriculum, and have different needs for learning. So when you take lessons with me I will cater the classes to your indicual learning style, whether that is analytical learning, audio or visual learning, or anything else.

Now I encourage my students children, teens, and adults and my fellow artists to be themselves after realizing I had to accept myself and each of them as individuals not as copies of each other. I love the diversity of musicians I get to encourage! It makes life as a musician so much more fun and diversity in life and music should be celebrated. So be you!
