This past week 4 of our 10 Chapter Officer shared the week with Suwannee High FFA and Cottondale FFA officers in attending our annual Chapter Officer Retreat at Camp John Hope FFA FCCLA Center in Fort Vally Ga.
Monday after arriving we started off with some Pool and Chapter Time, officers had a mini lesson on Etiquette Training then broke out to each chapter time and started talking responsibilities and POA. After that they enjoyed some fun
Social Time with the Rec Room and Volleyball.
Tuesday we headed out after breakfast to the Houston County School System Canning Plant Operations where the community can come and can their own items and the plant has Ag students there helping. We then grabbed lunch and headed for Barrington Dairy where the officers learned so much about technology in agriculture and they enjoyed learning from Mr. Pete. Back to camp for our Formal Dinner where the officers enjoyed time with each other, used their etiquette dinner skills and had some great laughs!
Wednesday we had lots of Chapter Time to brainstorm and plan more on our POA. Then off to tour Pure Flavor Packing Facility. This facility packs vegetables and soon to be growing in house as well. We learned many of the products that we buy come from this plant! We ended the day with more chapter planning and some pool time.
Thursday we went to Fort Valley State University Farm. Even though most of our officers have had livestock interactions or even own livestock, it was nice to see and learn what they do with the livestock. They use a small group of animals to teach others about agriculture and at the Dairy Goat barn they milk and make goat milk soap that they sell. Then off to Dickey’s Peach Orchard & Processing Plant which was built in 1936 we all got a sweet treat and scored some Georgia peach’s. Then the officers were challenged with the low ropes course where they learned essential communication skills and lots of trust then off for some friendly (intense) Archery Attack games. We ended the day with an evening camp fire with s’mores and a reflection discussion on the week. Friday morning at breakfast it was so nice to see them exchanging contacts with Cottondale.
This week may have been a lot, but a lot was accomplished, skilled learned and sharpened and a whole lotta memories made!! 💙💛

Our chapter attended the 98th Florida FFA State Convention and Expo in June. Our attending members had the opportunity to work with FFA members from across the great state of Florida, meet the National FFA President Trey Myers, attend workshops on leadership, participated in day of service helping the food banks, attend convention sessions, learned some magic tricks, took notes on their experience throughout the week and our chapter was recognized as one of Floridas Premier FFA Chapter. We all enjoyed learning and leading together.

When first timers attend and after convention they tell you this…
“My favorite part was being with my friends and getting to learn about leadership, cooperation and Jesus and I a got to do it with the people that understand me and, I feel like their gonna stick around longer than most people.”
You know you’re doing something right!
Excited to watch these members grow even more this coming year! 💙💛

💙💛"Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve."💛💙

A few of our upcoming officers had the opportunity to help the 1st Methodist Church of Live Oak on Thursday. We helped load the food on trailer for other churches and then put our hands to work on dividing up the food share in bags for our community!
Thank you to Abigail, Blaire, Maddox and Re*****on for Living to Serve. The officers also loved working along side Nurse Gaddy (SMS) and Mr. Gaddy (SHS)
