Starting daycare or preschool is the beginning of an exciting new adventure! A few simple steps at home can help your child walk through the door feeling confident, happy, and ready to explore.
• Talk about school with excitement and positivity.
• Visit the center beforehand so it feels familiar.
• Begin your school routine a few days before the first day.
• Let your child choose a new backpack or pair of shoes, they'll love showing them off!
• Keep your goodbye short, warm, and confident.
• If permitted, pack a favorite comfort item for extra reassurance.
• Remind them you'll be back after a fun day of learning, playing, and making new friends.
