The mission of The Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies (CCBS) is to advance the scientific study of behavior and its humane applicaton to the solution of practical problems, including the prevention and relief of human suffering. The Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies is a nonprofit organization that harnesses the expertise of hundreds of behavioral scientists to solve problems in the home, school, community, and the workplace.

The Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies is now accepting poster submissions for the 8th Annual Behavioral Science: Applications in Leadership & Supervision Conference.
Students and certified practitioners are invited to showcase applied research, including ABA interventions, supervisory models, and organizational outcomes related to leadership and/or supervision. Posters will be presented in person at the University of Kansas in Lawrence.

What Do We Actually Know About Effective Supervision?

How much of what we recommend as “effective supervision” is actually supported by research?

At the 8th Annual Behavioral Science: Applications in Leadership & Supervision Conference, Natalie Andzik, PhD, BCBA-D, will take a closer look at what we know—and what we don’t know—about effective supervision in behavior analysis.

Drawing on the supervision literature, Dr. Andzik will examine feedback, individualized supervision, professionalism, the supervisory relationship, and supervisee well-being, while challenging us to distinguish commonly recommended practices from those supported by evidence.

She’ll also offer practical strategies supervisors can use now to strengthen supervision and support professional development.

CCBS Welcomes Dr. Lori Ludwig as Executive Director

The Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Lori Ludwig as the Center’s next Executive Director, effective October 1, 2026.

Lori is no stranger to CCBS. She has served as a Trustee since 2012 and brings a deep understanding of the Center’s mission, history, and community. With more than 25 years of experience working with nonprofits, human services, and corporate organizations, including a focus on Organizational Behavior Management (OBM), Lori brings extensive experience and knowledge to her new role.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Rob Holdsambeck for his leadership and dedication as Executive Director. Rob helped stabilize the organization and brought renewed energy and purpose to the Center. He will work with Lori to support a smooth transition.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Lori Ludwig as Executive Director of the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies! We look forward to Lori leading CCBS into its next chapter.

At our 8th Annual Behavioral Science: Applications in Leadership & Supervision Conference, Claudia L. Dozier, PhD, BCBA-D, will explore what it takes to move from staff training to effective, sustainable performance.

Her presentation will examine training, supervision, feedback, and implementation—including how to distinguish skill-acquisition problems from performance problems and promote lasting performance when supervisors aren't present.
