After working with 75+ schools using Math Expressions, here’s a truth bomb:
The schools that win big come fall aren’t doing MORE in the summer…. They’re doing LESS!
📉 Less initiative overload
🤔 Less guesswork
📣 Less mixed messages
Instead, they have ONE CLEAR GOAL everyone can work toward.
Because when teachers, coaches, and leaders all pull in the same direction, you get alignment.
And alignment = results.
Are you a Math Expressions user ready to ramp up your results next year? Join the Leadership Planning Workshop live on June 24th, and let’s build your alignment plan together!

You may look at math data and immediately focus on student gaps. But your data is actually revealing much more than that.
Student data can help you identify:
- where instructional understanding is breaking down
- where curriculum implementation is inconsistent
- where systems may not be supporting teachers effectively
- where priorities may lack clarity across the building
The challenge is that many leaders were never taught how to interpret data through that lens.
Instead of using data simply to react, strong instructional leaders use it to diagnose.
That’s exactly what I’ll help you do at the FREE leadership training TODAY!
If you’re responsible for math goals, school improvement planning, or supporting Math Expressions implementation, this session will give you a much clearer framework for knowing what to prioritize next.
Plus it’s free for school and district leaders!

You might be surprised to hear this--sometimes school improvement doesn’t require adding more.
Instead, it requires getting much clearer about:
-what matters most
- what should be implemented consistently
- and what teachers actually have the capacity to do well
I train teachers almost daily and what I notice is when schools try to prioritize everything at once, teachers often end up overwhelmed instead of supported.
The schools making the biggest instructional shifts right now are the ones creating stronger alignment, clearer expectations, and better systems.
Say no to more initiatives and yes to focused goals.
I am hosting a leader training that’s designed for school leaders who use Math Expressions and want to create meaningful math improvement without overwhelming their staff in the process.

Many school leaders are carrying too much right now.
New initiatives.
New instructional expectations.
New strategies.
New pressures tied to student data.
And somewhere in the middle of all of that, teachers are trying to figure out: “What actually matters most?”
The strongest math leaders I work with don’t try to fix everything at once.
They create alignment and simplify the focus.
Strong math leaders make sure teachers understand the priorities clearly enough to implement them consistently.
That doesn’t mean lowering expectations. It means leading with more precision.
In my FREE 30-minute Math Expressions leadership training, I’ll show you how to identify the highest-impact areas to focus on so your math goals actually lead to change instead of overwhelm.

AI had a little too much fun with this one 😂 But the coffee and big ideas are pretty accurate. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how much pressure schools are under to make the right math goals for next year and how easy it is to keep adding more instead of getting clearer.
So I’m hosting a free training for leaders using Math Expressions to talk through it.
If you’re a principal, coach, or district leader, I’d love for you to join me. And if you’re a teacher who has ever thought, “I wish my admin understood this part of math instruction a little more…” you can send this post their way. 😉

I know intervention often feels like the safest place to focus when scores aren’t where we want them to be. But in many schools, the real issue starts long before students ever get to intervention.
It starts in Tier 1.
If teachers don’t have clear instructional priorities…
If curriculum expectations vary from classroom to classroom…
If teams are unclear on what’s “must do” versus “nice to do”…
Then adding more intervention won’t solve the underlying problem.
Especially in Math Expressions schools, I see leaders working incredibly hard while still struggling to get consistency across classrooms.
That’s exactly what my FREE 30-minute leadership training is designed to help with.
We’re going to look at how to strengthen systems, clarify priorities, and identify where implementation gaps may actually be driving your data.
