What an absolute gift to be able to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe on her feast day as a school community.
We joined together after the all-school Mass to celebrate with a mariachi band serenade, tamales, Mexican hot chocolate, and conchas!
Here is a powerful prayer for her intercession:
“Dearest Lady of Guadalupe, fruitful Mother of Holiness, teach me your ways of gentleness and strength. Hear my prayer offered with deepfelt confidence to beg this favor…. O Mary, conceived without sin, I come to your throne of grace to share the fervent devotion of your faithful Mexican children who call to you under the glorious Aztec title of “Guadalupe” the virgin who crushed the serpent. Queen of Martyrs, whose Immaculate heart was pierced by seven wounds of grief, help me to walk valiantly amid the sharp thorns thrown across my pathway. Queen of Apostles aid me to win souls for the Sacred Heart of my Savior. I plead this through the merits of your merciful Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.”

At Saint Mary Virtue School celebration of the sacraments is central to our life and mission. In addition to weekly Mass and frequent Confession, our students develop a “sacramental vision” that enables them to recognize God in all things.

Dear Families,
We had a beautiful celebration of All Saints. The Holy Spirit opened the heart of all of us, to desire more a holy life. What’s the difference between a saint and a regular person? The way they have present the Holy Spirit in their hearts.
I wanted to give a big thank you to Trish Taylor and Andrea Chott and to all the other parents that helped. Thank you for the awesome work they’ve done preparing the celebration. It was a blast! Thank you.
And thank you to the Holy Spirit for bringing us closer, for moving us to love more always.
This is the dynamic of our hearts. We want to be loved. We want to love. There’re things that make it more complicated. But giving thanks helps us acknowledge the origin of all the gifts we receive and the final destination of our lives: holiness, to enjoy God in heaven!

-DURING the mass, students are invited to participate in the presentation of gifts. Head to the back of the church during the creed to join 🙂
-Students wearing their mass uniform will get a Jersey day dress down pass!
