This also applies if you are caring for someone who is grieving. Take care of each other.
If Christmas is hard,
If you’ve lost someone dear.
Just look in your heart,
And you’ll know they’re still here.
The star in the sky,
The light falling snow.
The robin outside,
It seems like they know.
If this is a time,
When you’re struggling through.
Just do what you can,
For what matters, is you.
There’s no need to be merry,
There’s no need to be bright.
Just do what you can,
It will all be alright.

Don't let someone try and rush you through your grief. It is yours and no one else's.

This time of year it's especially important (and sometimes equally as tough) to advocate for yourself. 🗣️
Here's your reminder that boundaries are limits you set for yourself.
The boundaries you set determine how you allow yourself to be treated by yourself and others.
Boundaries can be communicated calmly and compassionately. 💛
One that works for most situations is, "I understand that you mean well, but I would appreciate it if_______"
Remember you always have the option to end the conversation and walk away!
ex: "My communicated boundary wasn't respected, I'm going to excuse myself."
Boundaries can also look like:
✔️ Leaving a family gathering early to prioritize your rest.
✔️ Stepping outside for a breath of fresh air when conversations become overwhelming.
✔️ Saying no to things that drain your energy, even if they seem small.
You are allowed to protect your peace. You are allowed to prioritize your well-being. You are allowed to put yourself first.
Take care of yourself this season! You deserve it. 🙏
