I generally don't post these on my business page; however, for those of you that have attended my classes, you know how important safety is to me. I have followed and attended the recent hearings regarding HB 25-003,(the gun ban bill) watching with amazement the way the legislators running this bill, as well as their supporters treatment of Colorado Citizens. I think they forget they work for us.
I sent the following email to all our legislators hoping they might take the time to see what they have done though I don't believe they hear anything the people in the know have to say. please see my email and join me in this ballot initiative should this bill get passed.

I am George Mumma, a retired Chief of Police with 45 years of distinguished service and 34 years as a Master Fi****ms Instructor in the State of Colorado. It is with profound dismay that I have observed the progression of House Bill 25-003 through its various committee stages over recent weeks. I have witnessed those who drafted this legislation, along with its proponents, engaging in casual behavior—eating, using mobile devices, and disparaging the very individuals who diligently serve this state. I am deeply troubled that the advocates of this bill are pressing forward with measures that, in my professional judgment, pose a significant risk of harm to Colorado residents.
Specifically, this legislation appears to encourage practices that contravene the Four International Firearm Safety Rules, a foundational standard for safe firearm handling. Furthermore, it advises citizens to disregard manufacturers’ instructions by permanently affixing magazines—through pinning, welding, or gluing—into fi****ms and loading them from the top. Such actions could precipitate catastrophic malfunctions, potentially resulting in live rounds discharging into the hands or faces of Colorado residents, causing severe injury or death.
Should this bill be enacted, I intend to pursue a ballot initiative aimed at safeguarding our citizens. This initiative would seek to ensure that residents who suffer Serious Bodily Injury (SBI) or death as a consequence of these mandated practices are able to recover associated medical costs, thereby providing a measure of protection and recourse.
