The holidays can be such a special time of year. It can also be a very challenging time for some families. Below are our top 5 tips for supporting your family through the holidays:

1. Prepare for Transitions Early
-Visual calendars and simple countdowns help children anticipate changes.

2.Plan Sensory-friendly Spaces
-Create quiet zones where children can decompress during large gatherings.

3. Maintain Some Routines
-Even one or two consistent elements (bedtime, morning rituals) can help anchor children during unpredictable days.

4. Set Expectations & Practice Scripts
-Talk through what will happen, who will be there, and how to ask for breaks.

5. Model Flexibility
-Show children it’s okay to adapt plans — sometimes the best memories come from moments we didn’t plan.
