I didn’t set out to quote John Cena today, but what he says below also describes session work for a lot of musicians, honestly. There’s so much cool s**t I’ve played drums on that will likely never see the light of day. It’s a damn shame, but I’m already thinking about what I’m slated to do tomorrow.

I once paid this boy, now a grown-ass man, $100 to learn “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden note-for-note. And he did it, and has done a lot of other things on drums that are pretty incredible.
