Dear Educator,
You’re doing sacred work—and that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice yourself to do it.
This week, let’s ground ourselves in one rooted choice a day.
✅ 3 deep breaths before your next class
✅ A warm drink on duty
✅ Saying no to one extra thing
Your peace is part of the lesson plan.

Teacher friends, I need your help!
My students for a college course I’m teaching need to interview teachers who teach grades K-5. This can be done however you see fit (email, call, text, video chat). If you are available, please complete the form below. If you know someone, please share the details.

Moving to the enrichment team to teach STEM has been amazing and my biggest complaint is that we’re the forgotten crew but sometimes being forgotten is okay so I’m hoping that we can just do things for one another without depending on admin, etc. We don’t always have common planning, we don’t have meetings weekly (this is a ➕), we don’t always get recognized, we’ve never had team shirts, sometimes if feels like you’re on an island, and we miss out on special treats core teams get… I’m here to change that.
This Friday I wanted to show some appreciation with a little treat because I’m apart of the best team! Each person on the enrichment/elective team receive a personal note and bundtini from 🩵
Are you on the enrichment team? How’s your experience?

Slow & steady wins the race. Check out today’s classroom projects. Over the past few years I’ve committed to not going back to school early to have my class completely done before school starts. Our building opens up weeks before school starts, is open until the wee hours of the night, and is open on weekends leading to the first day. This is a boundary that I’m standing on… we are not compensated for that each time nor are we reimbursed for the dollars we spend. I still want a welcoming space for my kiddos so I do it slowly over the first few weeks of school. Those back to school PD days are packed with meetings and include little to no classroom time. How about you? Are done before school starts?

Day one in the books for year 18! I’m claiming a great year with these PreK to 5th Grade kiddos. Not to toot my own horn, I’ve been the favorite enrichment for the past 3 years… and I don’t plan on that changing 😏

And just like that, the new school year is officially underway! Teachers first day was yesterday, and the energy is incredible. As both a STEM teacher and the campus Wellness Coordinator, I’m especially excited for the year ahead.
We welcome our students on Wednesday! Praying for a great year for everyone.
When do you return to school?

It’s testing season. Yay! 😬 And I’m so ready for it to be over.
Have the day you deserve! 😌
