Keep up with what we're doing at the Forest Park Roots Outdoor Learning Center!

It's that time of year when we are all getting a lot of packages delivered. Don't forget to recycle your plastic wrap and packaging. Look for the recycling ♻️ symbol. You can recycle them by taking them to your local Kroger or bringing them to the East front entrance and placing them in the Trex container. Don't be a Scrooge this holiday season. Recycle!

Got pumpkins? Bring them to school and throw them in one of these black bins along side the garage. They will then be composted by The Urban Food Loop. Reminder: no painted pumpkins. The bins will be out for the next few weeks.

I think most of the kids would agree that the hayride was so much fun. Huge thsnk you to David Cherry for providing the trailer snd driving the same route so many times.

It's that time of year. The preK kids headed out to the orchard for their pumpkin patch. Each group got to take a hay ride, pick a pumpkin, have a tasty treat, and listen to a story. Special thank you to for being our amazing storyteller.

Another successful trip to a local farm. We picked up pumpkins for our PreK pumokin patch and sweet potatoes for next month's garden snack.

Garden Club has continued to be a huge success. Last month Mr. Willliams class came out to lend a hand. We got a ton of things done to prep the garden for fall planting.

Lots of fun things in the garden this month. It is all decked out for Halloween. We have a new spooky scavenger hunt and a pumpkin themed story walk. Speaking of pumpkins, we have a rotting pumokin along with a copy of Pumpkin Jack. Stop on by and take a look.

**That being said there have been several instances of vandalizism in the garden and orchard. People have moved or taken decorations, torn down signs, left scavenger hunts and markers all over the garden. If these acts continue, I will no longer do the "extras" in the garden.**
