Are you a medical professional looking to break down the language barrier between you and your Spanish-speaking patients? Medical Spanish Jumpstart is for you!

Using real-world medical scenarios, participants will develop their Spanish skills, learn essential medical vocabulary, gain an understanding of key cultural aspects of the Spanish-speaking world, and more.

This introductory course runs from July to September and is held in person at UA Little Rock.

This summer and fall, we’re excited to continue offering Medical Spanish Jumpstart, an introductory Spanish course designed for working healthcare professionals.

With only 8% of healthcare workers in Arkansas able to speak Spanish, we’re proud to be bridging the gap between Spanish-speaking communities and healthcare providers.

With more than 250,000 Spanish speakers in Arkansas and only about 8% of health care workers able to speak Spanish, UALR is launching a course aimed at helping medical professionals communicate with Spanish-speaking patients.

We were invited by the UCA Community Development Institute to join them for a tour of Providence Park, an initiative aimed at providing housing to chronically homeless individuals.

Earlier this year, our faculty was able to tour the property in order to explore new and exciting ways that the social work, nursing, and construction management students at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock can gain valuable experience while serving an amazing cause.

With 400 homes, a medical clinic, an orchard, and much more, this village is designed to create a community where everyone is safe, seen, and home. We’re excited to see this project grow and impact our local community and beyond!
