We kicked off our first day of summer camp yesterday talking about the book of Job and all the ways God speaks to us through nature 🌱☀️ Then we went out and had a great day hangin out with God while fishing and dancing and swimming and more! Who’s ready to do it all again today?!

A historic day at Ferncliff.

Today, we celebrated two major milestones in our Connect. Inspire. Transform. Capital Campaign: the grand opening of Ferncliff Commons and the ceremonial opening of the dam to officially launch our Stream Restoration Project.

We dedicated the new building, cut the ribbon, rang the Dwight Mission bell, and then gathered at the stream where Joel Gill, Ted Belden, and Tom Fennell spoke before the dam was opened and water rushed downstream.

One of the highlights of the day was our Ferncliff Nature Preschoolers standing on the bridge holding their hand-painted sign: “Full Stream Ahead.”

Katie Morris with the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission shared fish from the stream, including the Plains Blue Belly Darter, a species of greatest conservation concern found in these waters.

Ferncliff Lake will continue draining in the days and weeks ahead as restoration work continues. Stay tuned for updates.

We were so excited to host Robert’s Elementary 5th grade celebration at Ferncliff! We started off strong with the annual Class Tug-of-War Competition and kept having fun throughout the day with our Shady Shoot, Neon Dodge Ball, Sling Shots and more!

A much-needed before and after! ✨ BIG thank you to this group of UALR School of Business students for volunteering their time to clean and repaint our slingshot range just in time for summer camp! Wildcraft is back for the 2026–27 school year, and spots are now open.

This weekly, outdoor homeschool program invites students to learn through hands-on exploration, creativity, and time in nature.
