Good luck spotting a turkey in the 1st grade hallway because you’re going to need it! Our students worked hard to disguise their turkeys so they wouldn’t end up as the main course at Thanksgiving dinner. From book characters and athletes to animals, police officers, and even Santa Claus himself, these turkeys are hiding in plain sight with some creative costumes.

Inspired by the book Balloons Over Broadway, our young authors and designers took on the big challenge creating their very own balloon for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Students dreamed up imaginative characters, designed colorful parade-ready balloons and wrote persuasive pieces explaining why their balloon deserved a spot in the famous holiday parade.

Many of our classes celebrated Thanksgiving this week in a special way. First graders pulled all their desks together and celebrated by sharing a meal. Their teachers talked to them about how the most important part about Thanksgiving is the people you celebrate with. Kindergarteners learned about the very first Thanksgiving. They sat in one big circle and made a huge potluck of fun treats that they got to share.

Run, run as fast as you can! Our CTK Running Club students have been getting up bright and early, ready to hit the ground running! And they're not just running laps around the field, they’re also taking on the steep hill beside it, running through obstacle courses, and even running in 5Ks outside of Running Club! After an early morning of running, they’re always ready to start the school day off on the right foot!

Our teachers had a few tricks up their sleeves this week (before the treats)! They ended up having more fun than they thought possible at school and kept students guessing what was coming next during our Underground Spirit Week!

Their faces say it all! The Magic Milk lab was a fun experiment that left students surprised by the results. They discovered why adding dish soap to milk creates such colorful reactions and connected it to their science lessons on surface tension and how molecules interact.

Are you a witch looking for a place to make a potion? Or perhaps you're a werewolf looking for a hunting lodge. If you need a place to park your broom and don’t mind a few ghosts or cobwebs, these CTK 5th graders have just the place for you!
Their haunted house art projects turned into spooky real estate listings as they wrote persuasive essays convincing you to buy their creepy creations. It was a fun way to mix art and writing!

CTK students have been busy this fall with fun field trips! 🎃
Our first graders visited Bo Brook Farms for pumpkins, hayrides, pig races, and more. Kindergarteners had a blast at Family Farm, visiting animals and riding the John Deere train. And our fourth graders took learning on the road to UCA for The Magic School Bus: Lost in the Solar System!
