For many students, concerns about dining options, academics, or campus life can feel difficult to address. At UA Little Rock, the Student Government Association (SGA) serves as a bridge between students and university leadership, ensuring student voices are heard.
“SGA is often the difference between students having concerns and students having a voice,” said Ainsley Kendall, a management major and president of the Student Government Association.
“Whether it’s dining, academics, or campus life, we take student feedback directly to university leadership and push for action.”

UA Little Rock is making its largest investment in graduate assistant stipends in more than a decade, increasing financial support for master’s and doctoral students beginning this fall.
Beginning in Fall 2026, the university will raise the minimum stipend for master’s-level graduate assistants from $8,000 to $10,000 for a nine-month appointment. Doctoral-level graduate assistants will see their minimum stipend increase from $13,000 to $15,000.
Graduate assistantships allow students to pursue advanced degrees while gaining hands-on experience in research, teaching, and university operations. In addition to a stipend, assistantships may include tuition benefits that help offset the cost of graduate school.

A new exhibit commemorating America’s approaching semiquincentennial is now on display at the Arkansas State Capitol, thanks to a unique collaboration between UA Little Rock students and faculty and partners in the Secretary of State’s Office.
The exhibit, 250 Years of American Symbols, explores the history and meaning of iconic symbols throughout the nation’s history. It will be on display in the Capitol fourth-floor gallery through early September as part of the statewide America250 celebration.
At the center of the project is Dr. Kristin Dutcher Mann, a professor of history, whose research on the Arkansas Liberty Bell Replica inspired the larger exhibit.
History students Sydney Evans, Dawson Arnold, Tamara Riddle, and Amy Stabila, along with graphic design student Jadon Parks, researched artifacts, wrote exhibit text, coordinated museum and archive loans, designed display panels, and helped install the exhibit in the Capitol gallery, gaining hands-on experience beyond the classroom.
