Arkansas education leaders, here’s a question we should be willing to answer:

Why is computer literacy still treated as optional?

We require students to develop competency in math, science, English, and social studies—yet we are sending children into a digital economy without requiring them to truly understand the technology shaping their lives.

Using a Chromebook is not computer literacy.

Opening an app is not computer literacy.

Our students should understand file systems, digital communication, cybersecurity, productivity software, artificial intelligence, computational thinking, and how technology actually works.

This is bigger than coding.

Computer literacy should be recognized as a foundational academic competency in Arkansas education.

I’m willing to push the conversation.

Are we?

📣 Homeschool & Micro-school Groups — Digital Literacy Classes Begin This February 2027!

Garlington Strategic is now connecting with homeschool groups, micro-schools, co-ops, and learning pods interested in bringing students together for a practical, engaging Digital Literacy class beginning in February.

This class is designed to help students build essential technology skills they need for school, work, communication, and everyday life in a digital world.

Students will focus on skills such as:
✅ Computer basics and online navigation
✅ Keyboarding and productivity tools
✅ Internet safety and responsible technology use
✅ Digital communication and research skills
✅ Practical tech confidence for academic and real-world success

We are especially looking to partner with groups of students who would benefit from a structured, hands-on digital literacy experience.
