Some experiences just stay with you, and I wanted to share this pasta class with ❤️🇮🇹
I had the most incredible afternoon cooking in the home of Eleonora and Federico in Bologna. Three full hours of completely hands-on cooking, my kind of class! 😊
We started with a refreshing Hugo and then got to work making two hummuses (the beetroot was my absolute favorite!), a rich soy ragù that could rival any meat ragù, pillowy potato gnocchi, and Strozzapreti, a rustic hand-rolled pasta whose name literally means “priest strangler” 😂🍝
And then there was Eleonora’s whole grain and seed focaccia. I seriously could NOT stop eating it!
After all that chopping, kneading, rolling and cooking, we sat together on their beautiful terrace overlooking the garden and enjoyed everything we had made, finishing with a delicious vegan tiramisu.
Sitting there, I was reminded of exactly why I love teaching cooking.
It’s not just about the recipe. It’s about getting your hands in the dough, trying something new, laughing together, sharing a table and feeling proud of something you created.
I left their home completely inspired, and with so many ideas to bring back to Creative Culinary Kids ❤️
I may not be able to bring the Bologna terrace home with me…but I can bring home a little of the experience 🇮🇹
And I have a feeling some of what I learned in Bologna might just show up in one of my upcoming pasta classes 😉
Who wants to come make pasta with me? 🍝
