Dr. Jeremy Owoh, Superintendent of the Jacksonville North Pulaski School District, has been named the 2027 Arkansas Superintendent of the Year! Dr. Megan Duncan, Executive Director of the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators (AAEA), presented Dr. Owoh with the award at the Jacksonville North Pulaski School District on September 14.

The American Association of School Administrators (AASA) National Superintendent of the Year program pays tribute to the talent and vision of the men and women who lead the nation's public schools. Each state's association of school administrators selects a State Superintendent of the Year. These superintendents are then in the running for the National Superintendent of the Year award and will be recognized and honored at the AASA National Conference in February.

Congratulations, Dr. Owoh, on this well-deserved award!

Administrators met in Little Rock this week to continue AAEA's Leaders of Literacy Program. The course defines the systems and infrastructures required to successfully implement a literacy initiative aligned to scientifically based research. Built from the research in implementation science and sustainability, school improvement, and shared leadership, the course provides numerous tools—including an analysis of the current systems required for improved literacy outcomes—for guiding an implementation through various stages.
